Mexico’s Best Drilling Intercepts, First Week of March 2026

Five companies published results from drilling campaigns in Mexico during the week the PDAC.convention is held in Toronto.

Luca Mining released assay results from its ongoing 2026 drilling program at its Tahuehueto mine in Durango, with the highest gold result of the week: 7.60 m @ 14.27 gpt Au. The company points that the Au-Ag mineralization in breccia bodies below current mine workings highlights the potential for resource expansion. The mineralized system presents intermediate sulfidation characteristics.

Regency Silver announced the results from its 3,042 m five-hole program at Dios Padre in Sonora. The drilling intercepted several mineralized bodies with good Au, Ag, Cu and Sb numbers. Mineralization at Dios Padre is strongly correlated to breccias and nearby anastomosing quartz-feldspar porphyry dikes. The metal variance appears to show Au related to deeper, hotter portions, Ag and Cu related to intermediate sections with local Sb, while the shallowest portions are more Ag, Pb and Zn rich, like in the historic mine area. Dios Padre is within the Santa Rosa de Yecora district, characterized by a composite intrusive center with development of breccias in the rugged and irregular margins as well in the center, with local porphyry copper mineralization.

Kootenay Silver reported assay results from nine holes at its Columba project in Chihuahua. The staged program is focused on expansion drilling, with 100 m step outs from the resource bodies. The property presents mineralization with intermediate sulfidation characteristics, with beautiful vein textures presented at the PDAC core shack.

Pan American Silver reported drill results from the southeastern and eastern Candelaria zones of its La Colorada mine in Zacatecas. “At least four new veins and associated contact-related replacement mineralization featuring wide mineralized intercepts with high silver, gold, and base metal grades”. The company presented the highest silver intercept of the week: 1.03 m @ 9,730 gpt Ag. The La Colorada vein system is of intermediate sulfidation affinity, proximal to the nearby and partially defined La Colorada skarn orebody

Advance Metals presented results from ongoing drilling at its Yoquivo project in Chihuahua. The company asserts that “Recent drilling continues to support a potential transition at Yoquivo from an exclusively narrow-vein underground opportunity toward a scalable development scenario potentially incorporating both underground and bulk tonnage open-pit mineralisation”. Not much information is available to classify the style of mineralization, that tentatively could fit the low sulfidation epithermal model.
