VANCOUVER, Dec. 29, 2015 /CNW/ – Santacruz Silver Mining Ltd. (“Santacruz” or the “Company”) (TSX.V:SCZ) announces its subsidiary Impulsora Minera Santacruz S.A. de C.V. has entered into a short-term loan facility (the “Loan”) with Trafigura Mexico, S.A. de C.V. (“Trafigura”) in the principal amount of US$ 725,000.  The Loan bears interest at LIBOR plus a spread, payable monthly in arrears, with the principal to be repaid in six equal monthly installments commencing January 31, 2016.  The Loan has been secured by certain personal assets of a director and officer of the Company.

Highlights for exploration in Mexico during the fourth week of December 2015

This past week saw little activity in exploration news and zero news on financing.

In Sonora, Azure Minerals announced partial results from its delineation drilling at Mesa de Plata, showing a higher silver grade core 150m x 400m surrounded by a larger lower grade halo 900m long x 150m wide. Goldcorp’s El Sauzal in Chihuahua became the first mine in the world to be decommissioned according to the International Cyanide Management Code (“ICMC”). In Sinaloa Greath Panther Silver released results on its diamond drill program, which focused on infilling and expanding higher grade areas. Results are highlighted by intersections like 9.2 metres (6.51 metres true width) assaying 11.28g/t gold and 212g/t silver.

La Paz, BCS.  Baja California Sur es uno de los seis yacimientos identificados y cuantificados de México que contiene el elemento radiactivo uranio.

Así lo determina información recabada por el Servicio Geológico Mexicano (SGM) dentro del documento Reservas Uraníferas Nacionales que presentó en 2004.

Los sitios detectados, se relacionan directamente con áreas orientadas a la explotación minera de fosforita, como San Juan de la Costa, en La Paz, en donde opera Grupo Fertilan con Roca Fosfórica Mexicana (Rofomex), empresa que acaba ser absorbida por Petróleos de México (Pemex).

El otro lugar se ubica en Santo Domingo, en el municipio de Comondú, en el que laSecretaría de Economía se localiza una asignación minera de fosforita, y que aún no ha sido explotada, y se presume que Rofomex tiene otra concesión en esta región.

VANCOUVER, Dec. 23, 2015 /CNW/ – GOLDCORP INC. (TSX: G, NYSE: GG) announced today it has successfully decommissioned the El Sauzal mine in Mexico in accordance with the International Cyanide Management Code (“ICMC”) and it will be withdrawn from the ICMC.

The El Sauzal mine was the first mine in Mexico to be initially certified in full compliance with the ICMC in March 2008, and was recertified in July 2011 and December 2014.  It is now the first mine in the world to be decommissioned in accordance with the ICMC.  The decommissioning activities implemented at the mine have successfully mitigated previous cyanide facilities such that the ICMC is no longer applicable.
