Seventeen companies released silver results from drilling programs in Mexico during the fourth quarter of 2025. The highest silver intercept was from Coeur Mining at its Palmarejo mine in Chihuahua, with 17.90 m averaging 1,870 gpt Ag, including 9.10 m at 3,610 gpt Ag.
Thirteen of the eighteen deposits can be ascribed to some type of epithermal mineralization. The more numerous intermediate sulfidation epithermal deposits include Cruz de Plata (Durango), La Preciosa (Durango), La Colorada (Zacatecas), Cusi (Chihuahua), Alamos Silver (Sonora), Plomosas-San Marcial (Sinaloa), Columba (Chihuahua) and Las Coloradas (Chihuahua).
The second most common deposit carrying significant silver is the low sulfidation epithermal category, with Palmarejo (Chihuahua), Copalquin (Durango), Santa Elena (Navidad-Luna-Santo Niño, in Sonora), Claudia (Durango) and El Cubo (Guanajuato) in this category. Palmarejo is dominated by low sulfidation epithermal mineralization, but some parts of the system present intermediate sulfidation characteristics.
Four deposits present skarn or/and carbonate replacement mineralization, including Cerro Las Minitas (Durango), ELG Underground (Guerrero), Media Luna West (Guerrero) and Plomosas (Chihuahua). Campo Morado in Guerrero is the only volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) deposit in the list.
