Vizsla Silver had the highest grade-meter interval reported from its Panuco project in the quarter, closely followed by Pan American Silver’s La Colorada Skarn results. Although both boast high silver contents, at Panuco these are result of high grades on moderate widths, while at La Colorada Skarn the strong numbers are due more to the length of the intervals than to the silver grade. But we have to remember that La Colorada Skarn was found by following up mineralization at La Colorada project in Zacatecas, where high-grade veins were being mined, and these boast locally very high grades over mineable widths, as the values on the table below can attest.
Endeavour Silver is trying to enhance the underground potential at Pitarrilla, and obtained some fairly interesting results while doing so. Kootenay Silver is drilling its way to a maiden mineral resource estimate at Columba with more than decent intercepts to show, while at La Parrilla Silver Storm keeps building the case for a restart of mining in the district. While silver is not the major value contributor at Los Reyes, drilling by Prime Mining is delivering interesting high grade intercepts. That’s a similar case for Torex Gold at its Morelos Complex in Guerrero, where silver is a by-product on moderate to low grade levels, but still significant at the scale of mining. The two last with more than 1,000 grade-meter intercepts include the Valenciana Mine Complex from Guanajuato Silver and Heliostar’s La Colorada property in Sonora.
