Mexico’s Best Drilling Intercepts, Third Week of June 2023

Three companies reported drilling results from projects in Mexico this week. By far the most striking results are those coming from the program at Heliostar’s Ana Paula project in Guerrero, where the company is trying to define a high-grade core on the deposit for underground mining. The best hole intercepted 129.20 m grading 6.0 gpt Au. Hornfelsification and skarnification of the sedimentary rocks by the intrusion of a plagioclase-biotite porphyry was accompanied by pyrite, marcasite and arsenopyrite, present as veinlets, stockworks and disseminations in the altered rocks, in breccias, and as narrow semi-massive sulfide replacements at intrusive contacts. Locally crosscutting that mineralization is late low sulfidation epithermal veining with visible gold.

Gold Resource Corp. presented results from testing with expansion and infill holes the north-west Arista, south central Switchback, the Three Sisters and the newly discovered Gloria vein systems at its Don David mine in Oaxaca. The intermediate sulfidation epithermal mineralization is poly-metallic, with strong true width intercepts like 1.50 m @ 16.03 gpt Au, 7 gpt Ag, 0.1% Pb, 1.1% Zn; 2.55 m @ 1.53 gpt Au, 106 gpt Ag, 0.08% Cu, 0.5% Pb, 5.0% Zn; 5.44 m @ 2.57 gpt Au, 236 gpt Ag, 0.19% Cu, 0.9% Pb, 1.7% Zn; 3.69 m @ 2.95 gpt Au, 46 gpt Ag, 1.13% Cu, 2.8% Pb, 9.3% Zn.

GR Silver Mining announced results from two step-out holes outside the las mineral resource estimate (MRE) in the San Marcial area at its Plomosas project in Sinaloa. One of the holes is 300 m on strike from the last hole used in the MRE. Mineralization in the district is hosted in intermediate to low sulfidation epithermal veins and breccias.
