Six companies company released results from drilling projects in Mexico during the week.
Luca Mining reported assay results from drilling designed to expand mineral resources at its Tahuehueto mine in Durango. The company has identified more than 11 km of prospective vein structures, completing 67 underground holes for 11,450 m and 38 surface holes for 7,236 m using “HQ”, “NQ” and/or “BQ” sized diamond drill core at Creston, Perdido, El Rey, Catorce and Santiago targets. The property hosts intermediate sulfidation epithermal mineralization.
Pacifica Silver announced assay results for 27 holes from its ongoing phase II drilling campaign at its Claudia project in Durango. The results extend mineralization on the Central vein to 750 m on strike and 100 m down dip and defined more than 3.9 km of mineralized strike length across the Aguilareña, Central and Justina veins. Mineralization at the property is overwhelmingly of low sulfidation epithermal character.
Algo Grande Copper reported assay results from a new hole at its Adelita property in Sonora. More than 4,000 m have been drilled to date on this 7,200 m phase II drilling program. The hole intercepted several shallow skarn horizons and a new structurally controlled skarn at depth, that received the name of Margarita skarn. The mineralization at the project is interpreted by the company as the distal effect of a porphyry copper system at depth.
Avino Silver & Gold Mines reported results from thirteen holes completed on its first phase of infill and extension drilling at La Preciosa, in Durango. The company view is that structures are wider and the grade higher than in the current mineral reserves and resources, while advancing toward a larger scale operation. Mineralization at the project is of intermediate sulfidation characteristics: “Quartz veins are accompanied by adularia, barite, calcite, and rhodochrosite of variable timing, as well as acanthite, freibergite, Ag sulfosalts and minor electrum, plus variable amounts of pyrite, honey-coloured sphalerite, tennantite/tetrahedrite, chalcopyrite and galena”.
Mithril silver and Gold disclosed drilling results from Target 4 at its Copalquín property in Durango. This work extends mineralization along the Copalquín-Zaragoza structure to 700 m of strike length, raising the potential for resource growth. In general, the property presents low sulfidation epithermal mineralization, but the results from Target 4 on this release seem more akin to intermediate sulfidation epithermal mineralization.
Kingsmen Resources announced results from three drill holes at Las Coloradas project in Chihuahua. The reported assays are from La Leona zone at the Soledad II structure, which displays intermediate sulfidation epithermal characteristics.
