After a first week of November without companies releasing drilling results, Torex Gold and Endeavour Silver informed on the outcomes of their drilling programs.
Torex Gold’s EPO deposit is part of its Morelos Complex in Guerrero, between the Limón Guajes and Media Luna Deposits. The present campaign is focused on expanding resources to the north of the deposit and upgrading resources. The EPO geology described in the press release highlights its complexity, with skarn, CRD and intermediate sulfidation epithermal mineralization events : “Early-stage calc-silicate alteration is related to a proximal “aborted” skarn event ….. The latter grades into CRD-style mineralization that is associated with the main Cu and Ag mineralization event… A late IS-epithermal mineralization event, related to the phreatomagmatic activity, increases the Au volume and grade. Dikes and sills are deemed to have been previously emplaced along the same feeder structures of the mineralization event and constitute traps for the mineralized bodies. Given that Au precipitates due to the buffer exerted by the early stage calc-silicate alteration and sulfide mineralization, it occurs as free Au and is dissociated from the early Cu event mainly related to chalcopyrite”.
Endeavour Silver presented results from Pitarrilla, in Durango, acquired by the company in Mid 2022. Since the acquisition, Endeavour has re-logged the historic drill core focusing on defining high-grade feeder structures of the Ag-Pb-Zn sulfide mineralization of intermediate sulfidation epithermal character. Also, the company has refurbished the ramp and extended it over 1.3 km to provide access to underground drilling. This work has confirmed the presence of at least four structures that extend through the manto (Palmito, Danna, Victoria and Casas Blancas veins), additional mineralized structures include the Norma and Danna hanging wall veins and the Peña dike. It is estimated that the first four veins are typically 3 m in width and have a vertical extent of 600 to 800 m and strike lengths of 700 m; these veins appear open to depth.
