The Mining and Exploration News in Mexico: Highlights on the Second Week of September, 2026

During the 37th week of the year (September 07 to September 13, 2026), at least 32 press releases were issued by companies operating in Mexico, and 1 news published by the media. Of these, twelve related to deals and corporate matters, ten covered resource and development updates, seven presented exploration results, two announced financial activities, one addressed Mexican-related issues, and one reported social issues. ON MEXICO ISSUES, Two alleged members of Los Chapitos arrested for the kidnapping of 10 miners in Sinaloa. ON EXPLORATION, In Sonora, Riverside and its JV Partner Questcorp released assay results from the Phase 2A 2026 core drilling program at the Union project, Zacatecas Silver reported assay results from the second phase of rock chip sampling at its Oso Negro project, Algo Grande announced drill results from its Adelita project, and Tocvan confirmed gold mineralization along El Mezquite trend at its Gran Pilar project. In Nayarit, Miravalles Gold filed an independent technical report for its Fairfield project. In Durango, Pinnacle announced that its ongoing drilling program at El Potrero project has confirmed and extended the previously announced high-grade gold-silver mineralization at the historic Pinos Cuates mine.    ON MINING, No relevant news. ON FINANCING, DynaResource received USD $4M in IVA tax refund.  Goldgroup announced a non-brokered private placement for gross proceeds of up to USD $75M. ON RESOURCES AND DEVELOPMENT, Luca Mining released new assay results from its ongoing drill program at the Tahuehueto project, Durango. Zacatecas Silver announced drill assays from El Cristo drill program in Zacatecas. GR Silver reported that its ongoing 20,000m drill program at San Marcial project, Sinaloa continues to deliver significant drill intercepts confirming extension of mineralization beyond the current mineral resource estimate area. Goldgroup reported strong assay results of the six first drillholes from its ongoing 26,000m drill campaign at its San Francisco mine, Sonora. First Majestic announced positive results from its ongoing 2026 drilling program and expands exploration footprint at San Dimas project Durango. Defiance Silver provided the results on the drilling campaign on the San Acacio resource drilling program on the Zacatecas project. Oroco reported the fourth batch of assay results from its Phase 2 resource drilling program at its Santo Tomas project in Sinaloa. Sierra Madre announced that the twin diesel electric generators have been installed at La Guitarra mine in the State of Mexico. Silver Tiger reported exploration results for the 2026 summer program at its El Tigre project in Sonora. Goldgroup provided an overview of its Oaxaca mining operations and regional land package. ON DEALS AND CORPORATE ISSUES, Starlo Ventures entered into a binding letter of intent to acquire a 100% interest in and to the Margarita project, Chihuahua. Discovery Mining announced the appointment of William Shaver to the Board of Directors, as well as a number of senior appointments and executive promotions. Santacruz received conditional approval from the Toronto Stock Exchange to list its common shares. Americas Gold and Silver, Avino, and Discovery Mining announced that they have been named to the 2026 TSX30™, the Toronto Stock Exchange’s annual ranking of the 30 top-performing companies based on dividend-adjusted share price performance over a three-year period.  Elemental Royalty received approval from Mexico´s antitrust agency with respect to the acquisition of Vizsla Royalties. Guanajuato Silver appointed Colin Bower as Chief Operating Officer. Regency Silver agreed to acquire a 100% interest in the past producing Jabali Gold project, Sonora. GR Silver granted stock options to certain directors, officers, employees, and consultants. Apollo Silver announced a community assembly at which members of the Ejido are expected to vote on lifting the moratorium on mineral exploration and development affecting lands which include the Cinco de Mayo project, which is expected to be held on September 20, 2026. Mining Americas changed its auditor from McGovern Hurley LLP to Ernst & Young LLP. ON SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY, Algo Grand received a BB rating in its first Digbee ESG assessment, covering both the Company and its 100%-owned Adelita Project in Sonora, Mexico.
