Two companies released results during the week from drilling programs on properties in Mexico. Alamos Silver presented high-grade drill intercepts below the Cerro Pelon open pit, nine km from the Mulatos mine in Sonora, and from the Puerto del Aire (PDA) zone adjacent to the Mulatos pit. “Ongoing exploration success is expected to support further growth in Mineral Reserves and Resources at PDA, and an initial underground Mineral Resource at Cerro Pelon with the year end update expected to be released in February 2025”. Step-out drilling below the mined oxide deposit at Cerro Pelon identified high-grade structures that range from 45 to 125 m in width and up to 170 m vertically, with the top portion of the zone containing oxide mineralization. At PDA the underground deposit is expected to be accessed from a ramp and development drifts from within the Mulatos pit. The Mulatos District controlled by Alamos Gold displays high sulfidation epithermal mineralization.
Prime Mining presented results from expansion drilling on the Tahonitas area in the Z-T Trend at Los Reyes, in Sinaloa. Drill intercepts support the Z-T structure continuing to bemineralized for more than 500 m along strike from the current pit crest, with several high-grade shoots identified to date remaining open at depth and along strike. Mineralization at Los Reyes is described as of low sulfidation epithermal character, probably transitioning to intermediate sulfidation.
