Mexico’s Best Drilling Intercepts, Fourth Week of January 2024

Three companies released drilling results during the week. The most relevant are those from Orla Mining’s Camino Rojo Sulphides project in Zacatecas, where they reported several intervals over 100 gpt*m gold. The table of assays on the news release also includes interesting numbers for silver, lead and zinc. According to Orla, intermediate sulfidation mineralization is underlain by garnet bearing skarn mineralization, pointing thus to a distal gold skarn model for the entire system. The current results stem from the definition drilling effort by Orla to better define the high-grade core of the sulfide mineralization to “support a potential underground Mineral Resource estimate”.

Cerro Los Gatos in Chihuahua, owned by Gatos silver, is an intermediate sulfidation epithermal system hosted in volcanic rocks, which returned interesting silver, copper, lead and zinc intervals. Finally, Minaurum’s La Adelita project numbers come from a skarn probably associated to a porphyry copper system.
