Several companies posted zinc intercepts from drilling on their Mexican properties, of which La Colorada Skarn results by Pan American Silver were almost an order of magnitud greater. Several drill intercepts of La Colorada Skarn project in Zacatecas had tens to over a hundred meters grading over 5% Zn. Discovery Silver’s Cordero project in Chihuahua also produced relevant intercepts of tens of meters in the 1 to 2.7% Zn range, although not as impressive as those from La Colorada. Silver Tiger, Gold Resource, Vizsla Silver and Orla Mining also produced relevant zinc drill intercepts from its properties.
It is interesting to note the variety of deposit types with interesting zinc intercepts in this quarter: Skarn (La Colorada Skarn, Cordero, Camino Rojo), replacement (Cordero, Camino rojo), intermediate sulfidation epithermal (El Tigre, Don David, Panuco, Santo Domingo Hostotipaquillo, San Marcial, Topia) and porphyry copper (La Adelita). Also to note is the widespread geographical distribution of the projects with zinc intercepts from Sonora, Chihuahua, Sinaloa, Durango, Jalisco, Zacatecas and Oaxaca
