Two companies released drilling results from projects in Mexico. Orla Mining assays from infill drilling on the Camino Rojo Sulphides deposit are by far the most meaningful, with a best intercept of 93 m @ 3.69 gpt Au in intermediate sulfidation mineralization that, according to Orla, is underlain by garnet bearing skarn mineralization, pointing to a distal gold skarn model for the overall system. The Camino Rojo Deep Extension intercepts come from holes aiming below the Sulphides resource, where mineralization is related to semi-massive sulfides closely associated to interpreted feeder structures to the Camino Rojo deposit, bearing Au-Ag-Zn mineralization. Regional exploration has returned positive results at the Guanamero target, seven kilometers along strike the Camino Rojo deposit.
Prime Mining presented results from drilling at its Los Reyes project in Sinaloa, with good Au-Ag grades at the Z-T area, 100 to 200 m below the resource pit shell. Mineralization is of low sulfidation epithermal character in structures, often related to felsic dikes intruding an andesitic sequence of volcanic rocks.
