As in the previous week, four companies published results from drilling campaigns in Mexico, with the particularity that this time all the deposits tested host epithermal mineralization.
Alamos Gold released results from exploration within the Mulatos district in Sonora, not in one but in three deposits located several kilometers from each other. The company has gradually shifted from targeting oxides to higher grade sulfide mineralization in one of the major districts of high sulfidation epithermal mineralization in Mexico. “A total of $20 million was spent on exploration in the Mulatos District in 2025, similar to spending in 2024. The near-mine and regional drilling program totalled 56,117 m in 170 holes. This included 13,779 m of surface exploration drilling in 58 holes at the GAP-Victor and PDA targets at PDA, and 21,394 m in 56 holes at Cerro Pelon. Regional exploration drilling totalled 20,944 m in 56 holes …”. The results presented are from drilling at the Cerro Pelón, PDA (Puerto del Aire) and Halcones deposits, the latter being the most recent discovery.
At Copalquin, in Durango, Mithril Silver and Gold presented results from drilling aimed to expand the known resource at Target 1. The company intends to complete 3,000 m of drilling in Q1 2026 for the mineral resource (MRE) update. Copalquin displays a classic low sulfidation epithermal system.
Kingsmen Resources reported assay from three holes drilled on La Soledad structure at its Las Coloradas project in the Parral district of Chihuahua. Mineralization at Las Coloradas is of intermediate sulfidation epithermal style.
Tocvan Ventures announced the first analytical results from its maiden drill program on the North Block of the Gran Pilar project in Sonora. The press release did not state if these were diamond or reverse circulation holes, but the five foot intervals point to the latter. The five holes intersected andesitic volcanic rocks and andesitic dikes with silicification accompanying the mineralized intervals, as well as anomalous arsenic and antimony. The results and brief description indicate a probable intermediate sulfidation epithermal system.
