Mexico’s Best Drilling Intercepts, First Week of February 2025

Results from drilling programs on two properties located in Sonora were released during the week. First Majestic published the results of 20,809 m of drilling in 17 holes, drilled on the Navidad Discovery close to its Ermitaño mine in its Santa Elena property. Based on this work the Navidad vein extends for 1,000 m along strike and 300 m down dip , with widths between 0.5 m to 5.0 m, and the sub-parallel Winter veins is 600 m along strike and 350 m down dip with widths between 0.65 m and 6.6 m., with both veins still open in multiple directions. The low sulfidation epithermal mineralization comprises grey to pink banded quartz and quartz vein stockwork containing visible silver sulfides and local visible gold. The exploration team recognized that the epithermal deposit in the area formed in favorable host-rocks that are concealed beneath extensive overlying volcanic rocks. Drilling beneath the overlying volcanic rocks and other post-mineral volcanic rocks led to the Discovery of the Navidad Target, with its upper part identified 350 m below and 100 m away from the Ermitaño underground mine levels.

Riverside Resources reported results from the 2,250 m drilling program conducted along its partner Fortuna Mining at the Cecilia property. This initial five-hole work was designed “…. to test four distinct target areas …. to seek scale and evidence of a potentially strong hydrothermal system”. The San Jose vein system, the East Target, the Mesa Ranch Area (Mayra Vein) and the South Mesa Fault Zone were tested, and the results considered favorable for the continuation of exploration work.
