Mexico’s Best Drilling Intercepts, Second Week of July 2024

Four companies released during the week results from their drilling programs of properties in Mexico. Chesapeake Gold’s Lucy project in Sinaloa is the only one that is part of a greenfield drilling program, whilst the rest are part of programs intended to increase confidence in already defined resources.

Vizsla Gold’s Panuco project in Sinaloa and Silver Tiger’s El Tigre project in Sonora are clear examples of low to intermediate sulfidation epithermal deposits, and Atacama Copper’s Cristina project probably could also fit in the intermediate sulfidation epithermal category (distal to a porphyry copper sytem?). At Lucy, mineralization is related to a skarn system that has been defined so far by drilling for approximately 500 m, and by soil and rock sampling for another 150-200 m. Here a description of mineralization by the company: “The gold mineralization across this expanded corridor continues to display retrograde quartz-calcite, iron oxides, sulphide veinlets and stockwork hosted within garnet and pyroxene skarn and hornfels with zones altered to actinolite and other silicates.”
