Seven companies released copper intercepts from projects in Mexico during the second quarter of 2024. Skarn and skarn/carbonate replacement mineralization dominate the list with La Colorada Skarn, El Limón Guajes, Camino Rojo Sulphide Extension and La Parrilla properties. Intermediate sulfidation epithermal mineralization is present at Cerro Los Gatos, and epithermal to mesothermal mineralization at Pilar and Cristina projects.
El Limón Guajes from Torex Gold, Camino Rojo Sulphide Extension from Orla Mining and Cerro Los Gatos from Gatos Silver are mining operations, with the drill intercepts reflecting resource definition ad extension exploration along known mineralization. La Colorada Skarn from Pan American Silver is an exploration play sourced on definition and extension drilling from La Colorada mine, while La Parrilla from Silver Storm is exploration following extensions of a past producing mine. Atacama Copper is trying to improve the resource estimate at Cristina, and Tocvan Ventures is defining a resource at Pilar.
In all of these properties copper is a by-product of gold and silver-lead-zinc mineralization.
