Mexico’s Best Drilling Intercepts, Second Week of February 2024

Five companies posted results from drilling programs at properties in Mexico. The most impressive results ar from Orla Mining’s Camino Rojo Sulphides deposit in Zacatecas, where the company is trying to refine the geometry and extent of higher-grade components.  According to Orla, intermediate sulfidation mineralization is underlain by garnet bearing skarn mineralization, suggesting a distal gold skarn model for the entire system. Several intervals yielding more than 100 g*m gold were reported, as well as long intervals of low grade silver, lead and zinc.

The other press releases cover results from low to intermediate sulfidation epithermal mineralization with interesting gold and silver values from First Majestic Silver at Santa Elena/Ermitaño in Sonora and San Dimas in Durango, from Prime Mining’s Los Reyes project in Sinaloa and Prismo Metals’ Palos Verdes project, also in Sinaloa.
