Two companies announced results from drilling campaigns in Mexico during the week.
Mithril Silver and Gold presented results from diamond drilling aimed to increase resource confidence at Target 1 of its Copalquín project in Durango. The initial resource was completed with 17,700 m of drilling on 77 holes. Since then, 127 additional drill holes totaling 42,860 m have been completed on Target 1. The low sulfidation epithermal mineralization at Copalquín has been dated at 27 Ma, a Late Oligocene age that sets the system on the latter stages of the ignimbritic Sierra Madre Upper Volcanic series activity.
Pacifica Silver reported assay results from 28 holes from the ongoing 20,000 m 2026 diamond drill program at its Claudia project in Durango. To date 12,750 m have been drilled in 54 holes, with results on 28 holes disclosed in the last news release, covering the testing on the Aguilareña area, Justina Vein, Central Vein and Contraria Vein zone. Mineralization at Claudia is characterized as of low sulfidation epithermal character, but the recent drilling uncovered a structure with strong lead-zinc grades which “may indicate a previously unrecognized hydrothermal pulse or proximity to a different mineralizing system”, which here is ascribed as of likely intermediate sulfidation epithermal character.
