Mexico’s Best Drilling Intercepts, Third Week of November 2025

Four companies presented news releases during the week on diamond drilling programs in Mexico. To note in the table below is that two of the properties drilled belong to different companies but share the same name, Plomosas.

Kootenay Silver presented results from the first seven holes of the 50,000 m drilling program at Columba, in Chihuahua. The company goal is to extend and expand known mineralization on the Columba vein system which currently hosts an inferred resource estimate of 54.1 M Oz Ag. The news release covers five holes on the I vein and two on the D vein. Mineralization is of intermediate sulfidation epithermal affinity. The broad low grade gold intervals have a distinct geochemical signature and mineralization characteristics that differ from the intermediate sulfidation epithermal system most common in the property.

Silverco Mining reported assay results from its 15,000 m drill program at its Cusi property in Chihuahua. Ongoing drilling at the San Miguel vein system has extended the vein to the southwest by 50 m. The company’s exploration model includes the presence of downthrown blocks displacing the mineralized horizons in this intermediate sulfidation epithermal system.

GR Silver Mining extended mineralization 75 m below the San Marcial current resource at the Plomosas project in Sinaloa. “The step-out drilling intersected two silver mineralized zones with multiple intervals of high-grade silver …”. Mineralization at San Marcial presents characteristcs common on intermediate sulfidation epithermal systems.

Impact Silver provided results from its underground drill program in the Juarez Zone at its Plomosas mine in Chihuahua. Mineralization at the Plomosas mine occurs as zinc rich carbonate replacement (CRD) zones in three bedrock units: The Mina Vieja marble, the Juarez limestone and in carbonate layers in the Cuesta del Cura shale, “where structural ground preparation along these units accommodated concentrations of zinc, lead and silver”.
