Three companies presented results during the week from drilling campaigns on projects in Mexico. These drilling programs are from projects very distant from each other but share in common the characteristics of intermediate sulfidation epithermal systems.
At the San Marcial deposit within the Plomosas project, in Sinaloa, GR Silver Mining presented results from the current step-out drilling program. Drilling at the SE Extension target has confirmed good grade mineralization extends 100 m horizontally beyond the resource area and 450 m below the surface. The drill holes have intersected wide, predominantly chlorite–hematite-rich hydrothermal breccia with boiling textures carrying the silver minerals argentite and acanthite.
Capitan Silver announced assay results from eleven of the first twelve reverse circulation (RC) drill holes of the planned phase one 10,000 m program at its Cruz de Plata project in Durango. The program has focused on the Jesús María trend, especially on the underexplored eastern portion. One of the holes delivered one of the best high-grade intervals at Cruz de plata, returning 19.80 m @ 0.25 gpt Au, 370 gpt Ag.
First Majestic Silver announced results from its 2024/2025 exploration program at Los Gatos, in Chihuahua. Significant drilling intercepts were obtained from the South-East Deeps, Central Deeps and North-West Deep zones. None of those results are included in the last end-of-year resource statement by First Majestic.
