Two companies reported drilling results from properties in Mexico during the week. Cheasapeake Gold presented really good results from exploring the Lucy gold skarn system in Sinaloa. Sometimes excellent surface gold results in channel samples and trenches turn to nothing once drilled, reflecting the enrichment of gold in the weathering environment, as happened to Evrim Resources on the Cuale project in Jalisco a few years ago. This clearly is not the case at Lucy.
Defiance Silver’s results are from the San Acacio deposit, part of their Zacatecas project, highlighting the importance of reviewing historic drill holes. Defiance assayed previously unsampled intervals of holes drilled between 2015 and 2017, which returned broad intervals of silver mineralization, including high grade intercepts in this low to intermediate sulfidation epithermal system.
