The notice of the week was that on an unexpected move to enter the fertilizers market, PEMEX acquired the Grupo Fertinal, which holds a sizable land package containing phosphorite beds in Baja California Sur.  In another interesting matter, not many juniors venture in tailings processing, but GoGold Resources announced it’s been producing silver at $ 7.30 an ounce (all sustaining) at its Parral tailings project.
On financing, Oceanus Resources announced a private placement of $ 2.5 Million dlls, and Red Tiger the closing of its private placement having raised ~ 584.5 thousand dlls at today’s exchange rate, and finally Colibri Resource Corporation raised 50 thousand dollars through a private placement.
On projects, Azure Minerals released favorable metallurgical tests of its Mesa de Plata discovery in Sonora with silver recoveries in the 70 – 76% range. Further east, Consolidated Zinc LTD from Australia, posted the discovery of a new manto in its Plomosas mine in Chihuahua, and Northair Silver Corp released rock sample results on the Nogalera Zone, part of its La Cigarra Project near Parral.
