The Mining and Exploration News in Mexico: Highlights on the Fourth Week of August, 2026

During the 35th week of the year (August 24 to August 30, 2026), at least 25 press releases were issued by companies operating in Mexico. Of these, six reported production results, six related to deals and corporate matters, six covered resource and development updates, six announced financing activities, and one presented exploration results. ON MEXICO ISSUES, No relevant news. ON EXPLORATION, In Sonora, Tocvan reported new surface exploration results from a target located 4km north of the main Zone at its Gran Pilar project.    ON MINING, Orogen, Sailfish, Guanajuato Silver, Sierra Madre reported Q2, 2026 results. Silverco filed Q2, 2026 financial statements and MD & A and provided corporate update. Heliostar commenced the open pit mining at the Veta Madre in La Colorada mine, Sonora. ON FINANCING, Silver Storm increased the size of its previously announced non-brokered private placement from CAD $7.5M to CAD $15M. Silver Storm closed CAD $14.625M first tranche of non-brokered private placement and announced further upsize up to CAD $21M. Pinnacle extended the closing date of its previously announced non-brokered private placement to September 26, 2026. Algo Grande informed that it has upsized its previously announced non-brokered private placement from CAD $3M to up to CAD $5M. Alamos Gold declared quarterly dividend of USD $0.04 per common share. Centenario closed non-brokered private placement for gross proceeds of USD $1.5M.  ON RESOURCES AND DEVELOPMENT, Silverco Mining provided la Negra mine operations update. GoGold announces the formal commencement of site construction at Los Ricos South in Jalisco.  Minaurum reported drill results from the Europa, Quintera, and San Jose Vein zones as part of its ongoing Phase II, 50,000m resource-expansion drilling program at its Alamos Silver project in Sonora.  First Majestic filed NI43-101 Technical Report for the Los Gatos mine, Chihuahua. Mithril reported drill results from its Copalquin project, Durango.  Mammoth announced that it commenced field activities at its Tenoriba project, Chihuahua. ON DEALS AND CORPORATE ISSUES, Xali announced its participation at the upcoming Moody Capital Solution 2026 Disruptive Growth & Life Sciences Conference, taking place September 9–10, 2026, in New York City. Tocvan closed its purchase agreement with Colibri to acquire the remaining 49% interest in two original Pilar mining concessions, and now holds 100% ownership of its flagship Gran Pilar project in Sonora. Colibri completed the sale of 49% interest in the Pilar project in Sonora for CAD $3.6M plus 1% Net Smelting Royalty. Sonoro Gold acquired a 100% interest in 23 mineral concessions and up to 51% interest in five additional mineral concessions to further expand its Cerro Caliche project in Sonora. Mercado Minerals signed community agreement with Ejido Rincon de Ibonia at its Zamora project, Sinaloa.  Silver Viper announced the resignation of Arthur Freeze as Director of the company, effective August 23, 2026. During the 33th week of the year (August 10 to August 16, 2026), at least 27 press releases were issued by companies operating in Mexico and 2 news published by the media. Of these, eight reported production results, eight related to deals and corporate matters, five covered resource and development updates, four addressed Mexican-related issues, three announcing financing activities, and one presented exploration results. ON MEXICO ISSUES, Stalled mining exploration puts Mexico’s industrial and energy future at risk. Government grants 12 concession titles to Industrias Peñoles and Minera Fresnillo; Ministry of Economy clarifies they are not new. Almaden provided an update on the international arbitration process with Mexico. Advance Metal and Oroco Resource reported the best drilling intercepts in Mexico on the second week of August, 2026. ON EXPLORATION, In Sonora, Algo Grande provided an update on its ongoing Phase II drill program at its Adelita project.  ON MINING, Altius reported Q2, 2026 attributable royalty revenue of CAD $30M and adjusted earnings of CAD $7.6M. Americas Gold and Silver announced that it will discuss its Q2, 2026 results on August 14, 2026.
